The Michigan Association of Hazardous Materials Professionals (MI-AHMP) will hold its Annual Conference on March 1, 2012, at Eastern Michigan University, 124 College Place, Ypsilanti MI. This year’s event includes speakers on a variety of environmental and safety topics including regulatory updates by MIOSHA; Rob Nederhood, Deputy Director of LARA will present the latest from the Office of Regulatory Reinvention; and The Acting Director of the MDEQ, Remediation Division, Anne P. Couture, with the reinvention of MDEQ. This year’s Conference also includes John Hartig of the US Fish and Wildlife with a presentation on a Brownfields redevelopment project which has been called an “Extreme Makeover”. Also Steve Laughlin, award winning speaker, will be presenting his entertaining lunch session discussing Hazardous Materials response and training. Other presentation topics include: New storage tank and LUST rules update; Managing Compliance and Risk; An Aspect and Hazard Analysis Tool for any Management System.
Registration begins at 7:30 am, with the Conference Opening at 8 am. The Conference Concludes at 4 pm with an annual business meeting of the MI-AHMP Chapter.
